Weight Loss Made Simple in 5 Quick Steps

Hey friends,

I was chatting to somebody today who was really struggling with their weight and they could not understand why the weight wasn’t coming off, so I thought I’d share with you some top tips for fat loss, or as I like to say fat ‘ERADICATION.’ Why?

What happens when you lose your phone or your keys? You look everywhere for it. Our minds are very clever little beings, and go on autopilot when we think about certain words. We associate loss with wanting to find it, so we unconsciously look for ways to put the weight back on we have ‘lost.’ So I challenge you to start focusing on eradicating weight to keep it off for good!

Ok, so this guy said he didn’t have caffeine, alcohol, or sugary drinks, which, is a great start, but for a larger chap, cutting back on food you’d think the weight would drop off fairly easily. He fell at my first question of why do you want to lose weight. He couldn’t give me a firm answer!

Know your reason for wanting to eradicate your weight. Be clear and definite. Write it down. Crystalize it. Have your reason so big that nothing could stop you achieving it. Again, back to our friend in our unconscious mind, they know no different from real and imaginary, so if you focus on being thin and happy, that is what you will be as your mind will naturally focus and find ways to be those things!

I then asked him, what do you have for breakfast. ‘I don’t have any.’ Whaaaaatttt?!! Ever think of what “breakfast” means?  Breaking the fast…your body responds to not eating for hours and hours by slowing down it’s metabolism, so it starts storing fat if you don’t eat regularly by going into starvation mode.

Always eat breakfast. By eating breakfast, you wake up your metabolism and get your engine going, burning those calories you need to burn to lose weight. When you skip meals, you’re so hungry by lunchtime you’d eat anything and everything and this starts the sugar cravings and the highs and lows…that’s one roller-coaster you won’t want to be on!

So we were getting somewhere, he then told me he found exercising difficult. It was difficult for him because he had no luck so far in achieving his goals, so it was easier to not do anything at all. I’ve been there, I’m sure you have too. So don’t be tough on yourself and take baby steps.

Exercise everyday. Now, how confident are you that you could exercise every day for an hour? Not very? Exactly! Make things easier for yourself and chunk it down and start with ten minutes. Could you walk for ten minutes a day? Like I said, baby steps!

I then asked how much water he was drinking and we were starting to see some progress. 6-8 glasses a day. I cannot express how important keeping hydrated is, with good quality water – no tap water, as it is filled with all sorts of contaminants.

Drink at least 8 glasses of pure distilled water every day, and add a slice of lemon in it to further aid digestion.

I then said how often do you eat green vegetables, and he said he didn’t like them. There are some amazing ways of learning to like green veg. If you are serious about wanting  a healthier lifestyle then eating greens is a non-negotiable!!

Have a variety of green vegetables every day. Replace any grains on your plate for beautiful, vibrant leafy greens. Dark-green vegetables are particularly good foods for burning fat. They include artichokes, beet greens, bok choy, broccoli, chard, lettuce, mustard greens, romaine lettuce, spinach and watercress.

These are just some tips to get you started, but I highly recommend you start with Tip 1 before you embark on your new healthy lifestyle, to ensure that you keep the unwanted weight off for good with a crystal clear reason for wanting a new body!

Much love until next time
